Since I don't sell anything but only use the cover art from here for my own DVDs, I simply print on legal size 24lb bright white copy paper & trim in a large paper cutter, and it's getting harder to find good ones at a reasonable price. Since the cases have a glossy clear plastic outer cover, I see no point in glossy paper & as for weight, once it's under the plastic, it's immaterial. Yes, you'd get better results with a better grade of paper, but for personal use, it's fine & everyone who's seen my DVDs in their cases think they're retail. Nobody has ever commented, except to voice complete surprise when I tell them I made them myself.
I just look at the pictures.

I must agree with dowsnow here
A decently thick paper gives that proffessional touch to a cover. Using just photocopier paper is asking for trouble. not only will it tend to slip from the cover it holds the colour design much better.
A couple of bucks more but it gives off a nice look.
Just my two pennies worth.
