I'm 2.2Km from my local exchange on an ADSLMax+ 8MBps line, pay 25 pounds a month from Eclipse (dear but very good pings for gaming on CS:S, been with AOL then crappy Virgin as I got 220ms pings & now get 40ms). Britain really does have the slowest broadband in the world & most expensive!!

I can average 3-5Mbps through Steam or when I download patches/demos from Gamershell. My actual upload rate is 448kbps..

You can never judge an ISP on just on speed. E.g: Do they throttle your line at certain times, do they restrict P2P, is your customer prompt+efficient at dealing with connection issues, is your ping low all day. All those are important to me.

...Just thought I'd add a fellow clanmembers cable speedtest...

Nice speed with Sky Adamsy, how close are you to the exchange - within a mile?
And it says EasyNet as your ISP, maybe you haven't migrated yet?

And I've looked at my history as well, found my highest to be this one...
(I mostly average 3Megs which is the average for the UK - I'm 1.7miles from the exchange.)

I love my ISP!

I'm also with Sky, I'm pretty certain they use Easynet's servers but have their own equipment in the exchanges, hence the up to 16 MBS on their Max subscription.
As the crow flies I'm about a mile away but as the cable runs it's more like 3. thumbdown.gif
