I have always used Nero to burn my disc's and never had a problem with it .......... Till now

At the weekend I bought 100 Infiniti Pro disc's, never used them before but it was all I could get at the time.

The first five I tried to burn with Nero, failed.

I installed Roxio Easy Media Creator 9, burnt about 25 disc's without a single failure, tried Nero again, and it failed.

Has anybody else had this or a similar problem?

also

Not been used to Media Creator, is there a way of levelling the volume across the tracks and removing any silence at the end of each track in Media Creator, as there is with Nero.

Any help would be appreciated.

Your problem with Nero is very likely these new discs you got. I know others that has happened to - and it was always the discs. You'll just have to use those discs with the program they are working with and think twice about buying them again. My policy is to stick with what I know works. I use alot of sony, and memorex (imations is pretty good too, but not sure that's something you all get your way) and have never had any problems with those brands. I just catch them on sale and get a few 100.

Sorry, I can't help you with the other thing. But I'm sure someone around here will be able to help.

Cheers! biggrin.gif

Hi, Have you updated/upgraded your nero lately? I use version 6.6.0.18 without any problems. When I updated to a later version of nero, my discs started to give problems (Verbatim) both CD and DVD. Had to go back to version 6.6.0.18 and they read/write ok again.

You could also try the following www.rambox.co.uk for RITEK discs which are also very good and best price,

regards,

Pop

I don't normally buy cheap disc's but at the time owt was better than nowt, I would normally stick with Grade AAA+, given the choice.

But my main question was asking for advice on using Easy Media Creator

I've never had a problem with nero burning disk, but they did let me down in the fact that Nero 6 is not compatible with Vista and I would have to upgrade to Nero 7, thank goodness I also use Roxio 9 which is compatible with Vista.

I'm using Roxio Toast 8 Platinum now...only for Mack users...and it's great. It comes with a cover program that I just love....any undecided Mack users...I love it.

now now ... do not fault Nero for all your failed burns, if using Vista Roxio and Nero can not co-exists in the same machine unless of course you are courting disasters and disappointments in your burning endeavors (LOL). Good name brand discs can only help so much ... you all know that folks, but I can agree stick with the better discs and don't let temptation fool you into buying cheaper priced discs even if it's free shipping.
