ConvertXtoDVD. Coverts all the usual formats AVI, MKV etc. Can also add simple menus if you so desire. An excellent program and very easy to use.

Please do not post external links without permission.
I have still left the address on here though.

The reason behind this is we cannot say what is at the other end of this link and we don't want members complaining about the link from your site lead us to a site where we picked up a virus.

So to be on the safe side we (that's the staff, here) have said no external links unless it has been cleared by the staff.

You might want to look into "Clone DVD" as a source program as it is very easy to use and updates to keep up with new stuff. If you plan to do encrypted stuff you can purchase "Any DVD" with it.

Agree with Adamsy, ConvertXtoDVD is a very good program to use, very easy and straight forward without any unused extra bits that you find in a lot of these things. Ideal for converting and burning those torrent files you have.

I did however create a home dvd of my kids (avi format) through Windows own Media creator program. If you want to do your own DVD films from home movies it is a free alternative.

But if you want a professional package try Cyberlinks Power DVD suite 7, this enables you to add titles, pictures, subtitles, menus, in fact just about all the things a commercially produced DVD has. It aint cheap, unless you know where to look wink.gif

"DVDFlick" will burn most downloaded video file types direct to dvd, with chapters.

Will automatically combine 2cd downloads to single dvd.

Can set up menus for tv series etc
If you can figure out how the 'template.cfg' file works, you can make your own menu backgrounds and adjust where titles are shown on the menu.

(just Google DVDFlick)

Once you have obtained one of the !copies! available on the net and installed with the requisite files  then you can always update it without any problems just by going direct to the VSO site and click the update button which will download and then just install and it overwrites the program files, leaving intact your previous additional requisite files!
Always remembering to stop the original install ringing home or autoupdating !

I've done this about 4 years now going thru 2 to 3 and now on v4 and IMHO is one of, if not the best, out there

Personal opinion is Nero 8 Ultra I've been using it for a couple of years and I thinks it's fantastic and once you learn more you can build menus and more.

I used to be a big fan of winavi (by far the quickest converter) but it doesn't like vista

For the last few years I've used convertX (in the beginning there were a lot of Audio sync issues) due to it using up a lot of CPU while in use, had to stop everything while converting to stop this.

Since I got my duel core....no more probs (but I still stop everything while converting, just in case) ;)
