Hmmm, really tough to narrow this one down. It seems like my all-time-favorites fall into the category of "shows that got canceled way too early" like Firefly, Witchblade, and Dead Like Me. Then there are the classics like Star Trek: The Next Generation, Stargate SG-1, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. About the only series that is still current that would make this list is Burn Notice.

Stargate Universe (SGU) This is one of the best television series i have ever watched.. they could have taken it to extremes.. being scifi it could not be compared with reality. the characters were developed fully in the second season.. The networks are a law unto themselves, they would rather air silly, cheap reality shows and adult animations, we the publ;ic don't seem to have a say in what we watch at all.. Of course this sort of series you need to be intelligent to watch and absorb and they are working off the concept that we are all cretins! When Jerico (another goodie) was canceled the fans sent peanuts which brought a short reprieve to tie off some of the loose ends, Facebook have a dedicated save SGU page.. if you agree with me go sign their petition and post! My link (other links available from there) It must be time for us" the viewing public" to dictate what we want NOT what "they" see fit to show us.. Ratings are also mis-reported - recordings and dvd sales are not inlcuded.

What goes around comes around

most of my fave shows are still running like Bones, Fringe, NCIS, Supernatural & True Blood, but at the risk of sounding extremely sad

one of my all time fave shows was one i grew up watching and that is Monkey, can't beat it just for pure mindless entertainment.

i would also have to go for the two ronnies, another one of the shows that was on when i was growing up (guess i'm still actually waiting for that to happen)lol.
